Acting & Audition Techniques for
Film & Television

Mondays: 7:00pm - 8:30pm

$160.00

Many actors cut their teeth on the stage; learning the theatrical techniques, presence, power of voice and movement for a live audience with large movements, bigger than life expressions and passion filled execution.

However, when performing for the screen, actors must learn to nuance that power for realism and effectiveness in front of the lens.  This course will take the tenants of acting and translate the foundation of theatrical techniques for the camera.  It will explore monologue and side selection, scripts for auditioning and provide an introduction to the self-tape submission world.

Reference texts include John Howard Swain's The Science and Art of Acting for the Camera

Soul Care for the Actor

Sundays: 2:00pm - 3:30pm

*Recommended Donation - $50*

This gathering is designed for the holistic care of the actor.  With the understanding that the actor utilizes the mind, body and spirit for the development of realistic characters, often embodying all parts of the narrative of that character, it is essential that the actor develop techniques of release of character traits, along with the development of techniques for personal healing and strength.

Furthermore, the creative soul often needs times of inspiration, refreshing and empowerment.  Therefore, this course will utilize various mediums of breathing exercises, journaling, sharing, meditation and affirmations for soul care.

Participants will receive an actor-self care box via UPS prior to the start of the course.

Reference texts include Veronique LaShell MacRae's The Artist Escape:  Refreshing, Renewal and Rejuvenation for the Creative Soul.
